About the Lab

The QUAN-CORE Lab operates within the Centre for Health Informatics at the University of Calgary. Its work has evolved from foundational administrative data methods and international coded health information collaborations into a broad program spanning electronic medical records, data quality, artificial intelligence, global classification systems, and applied population health research.

We develop methods to study health using administrative data and electronic medical records. We then apply those methods to questions in population health, patient safety, and health system improvement using Alberta's linked datasets and partnerships across Canada and internationally.
